General Jim Hart — President/ Chair - Brigadier General James W. Hart is a graduate of Chipola College in Marianna, Florida. He received a law degree from the University of Alabama Jones School of Law and also completed the Sloan School of Business, Senior Executive Management Program, at MIT.
After receiving his undergraduate degree, General Hart joined the United States Air Force and served for 37 years in a combination of active duty with the Air Force and reserve duty with the Alabama Air National Guard. The last 10 years of General Hart’s service was spent in the Pentagon as a special assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force. General Hart retired from the Air Force on April 1, 1995, as a Brigadier General.
While serving in the Air Force reserves, General Hart also pursued a civilian career and worked for some of the nation’s largest energy companies including Gulf Oil Corporation and as Vice President of Public Affairs at Duke Energy, the 10th largest energy company in the world. General Hart also has extensive experience with corporate mergers, managing three major corporate mergers in his lifetime. General Hart is listed in Who’s Who in America as well as Who’s Who in Public Relations. General Hart has maintained active involvement in his community and has served in a leadership capacity on a variety of local organizations and state and national political campaigns. Due to his concern that public funds be spent wisely and responsibly, General Hart serves as the Chairman of Floridians for Government Accountability.Jimmy Maxwell — Vice President/ Vice Chair
