New Poll Shows Florida Voters Satisfied with Rx Accessibility and Availability, Want Lawmakers to Prioritize Economy and Inflation

Floridians for Government Accountability, in partnership with The Tyson Group, have released a new survey of Florida likely voters. The survey focuses on attitudes toward the health care system and issues related to prescription drugs (click here to download). While voters are largely content with the accessibility, availability, and quality of their prescription drugs, 54% express discontent with prescription drug costs and a plurality hold big drug companies responsible. Only 4% of likely voters hold pharmacy benefit managers most responsible for the cost of health care and prescription drugs.

New Survey Shows Widespread Voter Opposition to Prescription Drug Benefit Legislation

Floridians for Government Accountability, in partnership with J. Wallin Opinion Research, released today a new survey of voter (click here to download) opinions regarding legislation pending in the Florida Legislature, Senate Bill 1550 and House Bill 1509, which would impose additional government regulations on prescription drug benefits offered by employers and Medicare. Results show an electorate galvanized against the legislation, with 75% of all respondents – and 90% of seniors – in opposition to the bills.

Tort Reform comes to Florida!

This week, HB 837, co-sponsored by Rep. Tommy Gregory and Rep. Tom Fabricio, swept through the Florida Legislature and has now been signed by Governor Ron DeSantis into law. This tort reform package has been an important initiative for many state legislators and their constituents during the 2023 Legislative Session. For many years, Florida has suffered heavily from frivolous claims and lawsuit abuse, and although special sessions have been called and strong efforts have been made to correct the problem, insurance premiums continue to rise, and more and more providers are leaving the state.

DeSantis COVID Measures

It’s been a little over three years since COVID-19 broke out, inflicting unprecedented economic and social upheaval around the world. Although much of the hubbub surrounding the disease has died down and things are back to normal, our state leaders are still fighting the good fight, ensuring that Florida and its citizens stay free.

At a press conference earlier this week, Governor Ron DeSantis announced that he’s pursing a permanent ban on COVID-19 vaccines and masks in efforts to protect Floridians from the “biomedical security state” perpetuated by the medical establishment, leftist media, and Biden Administration. He was accompanied by Rep. Neal Dunn, CFO Jimmy Patronis, and Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo...

Taxation without representation still exists?

It is unfathomable to believe that our founding Fathers fought the British over this very thing. They fought and died so that we would be a self governing people. A people who would not bear the burden of taxation without representation. But it it is still happening today!

Within the State of Florida there are several boards that are made up of non-elected officials who have the power and authority to levy taxes against Floridians.

Senior Fraud

The State of Florida has seen a spike in Senior Fraud cases and victims over the past several years. As technology increases at a rate one cannot keep up with, so do scams that rob our senior citizens of their income, money, safety and security.

Promoting fiscal accountability and efficiency

Effective fiscal management depends on the availability of good information about the objectives, design, and impact of fiscal policy and requires appropriate oversight to ensure that the funds are spent accordingly and represent the best interest of the area's citizens.

Floridians for Government Accountability seeks to make sure budgets are spent appropriately and in the right places. Funds approved for specific programs and projects must not find their way into the pockets of public servants or those who serve their best interests.
